Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes
Little Bunny Foo Foo

Use Little Bunny Foo Foo, one of many great mother goose nursery rhymes, as a way to teach preschoolers the important lesson that for every action there is a consequence. With its simple melody and catchy lyrics, the children in my class simply love it.

Nursery Rhyme Activities

1. Create an action sequence following the lyrics of the songs. (Hopping, scooping, bumping and so on) - This is great for coordination and gross motor activity.

2. Act out the song as a play.

3. Discuss with the children situations from their daily lives where they did not listen and as a result had a consequence.

4. Explore the language used in the song in particular the play on words "Hare today Goon tomorrow!"

Little Bunny Foo Foo Lyrics

Little Bunny Foo Foo
hoppin' through the forest,
scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.

Little Bunny Foo Foo

And down came the Blue Fairy, and she said:
Little Bunny Foo Foo
I don't want to see you
scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.
And now I'll give you three chances,
and if you keep it up,
I'll turn you into a goon.

Little Bunny Foo Foo
hoppin' through the forest,
scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.

And down came the Blue Fairy, and she said:
Little Bunny Foo Foo
I don't want to see you
scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.
And now I'll give you two more chances,
and if you do that again,
I'll turn you into a goon.

Little Bunny Foo Foo
kept hoppin' through the forest,
kept scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.

And down came the Blue Fairy, and she said:
Little Bunny Foo Foo
I don't want to see you
scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.
And now I'll give you one more chance,
and if you keep it up,
I'll turn you into a goon.

Little Bunny Foo Foo
hoppin' through the forest,
scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.

And down came the Blue Fairy, and she said:
Little Bunny Foo Foo
I don't want to see you
scoopin' up the field mice
and boppin' em on the head.
You disobeyed me three times, so now I'm gonna turn you into a GOON!

Goon

The moral of this story:
"Hare today, GOON tomorrow!"

I recommend buying these floor puzzles. The puzzle on the left requires your child to think of the song and put the puzzles in the right sequence, while the puzzle on the right comes along with a CD.
